"Real Estate is the Only REAL Investment"
ABOUT US
Julian V. Brandt Real Estate
Our founder was Julian V. Brandt (1888-1967), a native Charlestonian who was educated in Charleston and New York. After college there he worked in New York where he witnessed the rise of patriotism and emphasis on family and home in the years leading up to the First World War. Returning to Charleston in 1914, he worked with one of the old established real estate agencies where he observed the need for new and better housing. Very soon he founded Julian V. Brandt Real Estate in March of 1917.
Mr. Brandt diversified the company to include real estate sales and management, insurance, mortgages, development and home construction. As one of the early pioneers of suburban development, he founded the communities of Richmond Village and Rosemont in the 1920s. Countless houses in Wagner Terrace and the “Charleston Neck” were built through the company's building program. This legacy was continued when his son Julian V. Brandt, Jr., became the Broker-in-Charge in 1965; and his grandson, Julian V. Brandt III in 1998.
The company continues its legacy today and provides Real Estate Sales, Property Management, Consulting, Historic Restoration and Development Services.
In Real Estate Sales, the company has sold and represents some of Charleston’s finest residential and commercial properties.
Property Management services cover residential and commercial leasing and property owners regime associations.
Consulting Services include land use, zoning, historic preservation and pre development land use to achieve the highest and best use of real estate while respecting our environment, historic resources and community fabric. Through strategic alliances, planning, architectural and engineering services are offered.
In the area of Historic Preservation, owners are encouraged to take advantage of State and Federal Historic Tax Credits and Conservation Easements to fully leverage the return on investment.
The company motto devised by its founder - “Real Estate is the only Real investment” - continues to serve as our guiding principle.
